27 Illegal Foreign Workers Arrested By MPSJ

A total of 27 illegal foreign workers were arrested during a joint operation conducted by Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) licensing department and health department as well as the Immigration Department today.

Led by officers from the three departments, the operation was conducted at food outlets around the USJ 9 and 10 areas as well as a shopping mall in the Subang Jaya vicinity.

“In the four-hour operation which started at 10.30am, we managed to detain foreign workers from Myanmar (10), Indonesia (7), Philippines and Pakistan (3 each), India (2) and one each from Bangladesh and Nepal.

“As a result, six food outlets were issued with compound notices up to a maximum of RM1,000 for violating the MPSJ Food Establishment Licensing By-Law 2007,” an MPSJ spokesperson told theSun when contacted.
